Das ist ja mal richtig krass und eine schöne Erpressung. Aber genau die Entwicklung die abzusehen war und ich schon erwartet habe. Wenn man weiter mit M$ Windows fahren will muss man auf ein Volume Licensing mit SA umstellen, sonst hat man keine Chance mehr.

#^LOGbinder Blog - The 24-hour Bug in Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Auditing

LOGbinder bulletin, December 14, 2015 -- While investigating a support case, LOGbinder discovered a non-obvious yet critical bug in Exchange audit logging that essentially delays your ability to detect non-owner mailbox access for 24 hours. The PowerShell cmdlets New-MailboxAuditLogSearch and Search-MailboxAuditLog produce audit search results that are unpredictable and inconsistent when auditing all mailboxes and the start date is less than 24 hours ago.

The bug is not documented. We have reported this issue to Microsoft; they have confirmed it is a bug and said they have no solution timeline to share. Microsoft’s suggested workaround is to use a date range greater than 24 hours.

Installing latest KB3011140 may crash your Exchange 2013 seriously. Means: All services for Exchange are stopping and you´re day is lost. I tried to install CU7 to include the fix and bring back Exchange 2013 online. It hangs.Telling you, that Microsoft Exchange Service Host is not running. You may check services and realize, that again, all services to run Exchange are stopped and deactivated.

So, installing Transport role will fail again. So start CU7, wait until both services are stopped again, manually switch back to automatic-start and start them again! Then, if you´re lucky, it will fix that issue. Don´t ask me why this happens

Note: Seems you have to repeat service-activation after EACH step! Take care of it or it will fail again.

We have to do a Micro$oft Software Asset Management verification at office. Great fun! No idea how they want to do it with the information we should provide them, but this will be interesting.

There exists a Micro$oft Assessment and Planning (MAP) Toolkit which should assist you with this task.

MAP provides secure, agentless, and network-wide inventory that scales from small and medium sized business to large enterprises.

Sounds good, but are you kidding me? Only one user can use this tool by default? This is a wonderful example what M$ understands with "scales". Their marketing is really good in selling you all these nice features and functions and everything is so easy, integrated and automated, but when you want to use it as advertised you are left alone and you have to fix everything manually first.

#^A failure occurred while validating the MAP Toolkit configuration database?

By default, the MAP Toolkit will install SQL Server 2012 Express LocalDB during setup. As LocalDB is specific to the user account that installed it, You will only be able to run it from the initial account that did the installation. The repair process is actually placing LocalDB on the second user accuont and creating a new instance for MAP to reference.

Patches die Serverdienste schon mal abgeschossen haben gab es ja schon immer, aber was in den letzten Monaten los war mit zurückgezogenen und neu rausgeschmissenen ist schon krass.

Habe ein neues Diensthandy Micro$oft/Nokia Lumia 630 mit M$ Win8.1 heute erhalten. Habe es mir selber ausgesucht um vor allem mal die Verwaltungsoptionen zu testen, aber bis jetzt ist es eine ziemliche Katastrophe und noch schlimmer als erwartet. Ich habe nach 5 Haken die ich weg-geklickt habe womit Daten übermittelt werden sollten aufgehört zu zählen. Die GUI zum Konfigurieren hat mich nicht wirklich umgehauen, da fand ich Jolla um einiges schicker und ansprechender. Diesem Flat-Design Wahn kann ich immer noch nichts abgewinnen. Es sind massenweise Apps installiert, die 26 vorhandenen Updates für diese kann ich aber nur installieren, wenn ich mich vorher mit einem Micro$oft Konto anmelde.
Aber beim Einrichten eines M$ Exchange Kontos dann das Beste! Erst kommt kurz eine Meldung mit erfolgreich verbunden und dann die sehr hilfreiche Meldung:

Hoppla! Es gibt ein Problem, das nicht sofort gelöst werden kann. Versuchen sie es später erneut.

Mal sehen, ob ich das Teil irgendwie betriebsbereit bekomme.

Will man in einem M$ #SharePoint 2007 nur die Berechtigungen von einem Navigationselement bearbeiten erhält man die sehr hilfreiche Meldung "Unbekannter Fehler". In den Logs wurde dazu gar nichts protokolliert, auch nachdem man die Diagnoseprotokollierung massiv aufgedreht hat. Und wieso gibt es kein tail -f, was soll dieser Scheiss mit Get-Content log.log -wait, der total unbrauchbar ist. #fail
Nachdem man in der web.config CallStack=true und customErrors mode="Off" gesetzt hat sieht man zumindest im live-System diese schöne Fehlermeldung:Der Wert darf nicht NULL sein.

Hat einen aber natürlich auch nicht weiter gebracht.
Bisher hat der FF noch besser funktioniert als der IE11 mit dem SharePoint, aber im FF29 scheint es auch nicht mehr zu klappen. Habe einen IE8 dann gesucht und oh Wunder es funktioniert! Geld mit so einem Scheiss kann echt nur M$ verdienen.
