It’s news that will not only be hard for children to digest: The Puppenkönig toy store will be closing its doors forever. This week, employees were informed about the plans to close the store, which has a long tradition in Bonn.

:sigh Only international chains survive in the city. Every city has the same shops. Every shop is interchangeable. Profit flows to tax havens. Money vanished.

AFAIK Toy sales have been a feast or famine business anyway, even before the Internet. But amazonie pours kerosene on the fire i think.

People can rail all they want about the competition, but ultimately it is the customers who chose where to shop for whatever reasons are important for them.

I see a restaurant closing and say "Oh, what a shame" and then I have to stop and ask myself how many times I have eaten there in the past year. Twice? Once? Never? My thoughts that I might go there someday don't pay the bills.
