#^Night of Light – die nächsten 100 Tage übersteht die Veranstaltungswirtschaft nicht!

Seit dem 10.03.2020 ist einem kompletten Wirtschaftszweig faktisch die Arbeitsgrundlage entzogen.

Jegliche Art von Großveranstaltungen sind aufgrund der COVID-19 Krise untersagt. Business Events, Tagungen, Kongresse, Konzerte, Festivals oder Theateraufführungen - überall dort, wo Menschen zusammenkommen, um gemeinsam Darbietungen zu erleben oder sich zu relevanten Themen auszutauschen, dürfen Veranstaltungen nur unter umfangreichen, behördlichen Auflagen durchgeführt werden. Selbst Messen und kleine Events, die momentan wieder erlaubt sind, unterliegen zurzeit notwendigen und strengen Hygiene-Vorschriften; dies führt dazu, dass Veranstaltungen insgesamt zurzeit nicht mehr wirtschaftlich durchführbar sind.

Ein flammender Appell und Hilferuf an die Politik zur Rettung der Veranstaltungswirtschaft
Alle Unternehmen aus der Veranstaltungswirtschaft sowie Veranstaltungs-Locations (Special-Event- Locations, Veranstaltungszentren, Kongresshäuser, Tagungshotels und sonstige Spielstätten wie z.B. Theater, Philharmonien, Konzerthallen, Schauspielhäuser) in ganz Deutschland strahlen in der Nacht vom 22. auf den 23.06.2020 bundesweit ihre Gebäude oder stellvertretend ein Bauwerk in ihrer Region oder Stadt mit  roter Beleuchtung an, um auf die dramatische Situation in der Veranstaltungswirtschaft aufmerksam zu machen.

Die Veranstaltungswirtschaft steht auf der Roten Liste der akut vom Aussterben bedrohten Branchen!
Ein leuchtendes Mahnmal und ein flammender Appell der Veranstaltungs-Wirtschaft zur Rettung unserer Branche, die echte Hilfe anstelle von Kredit-Programmen benötigt! Wir fordern einen Branchendialog mit der Politik, um gemeinsam einen Weg aus der Krise zu finden!

My name is Ola Melzig, and it’s my true pleasure to invite you to yet another edition to the Eurovision Diary 2019.

Here is the fun facts about lighting!
* 2 100 Lighting fixtures in our show.
* We are saving more than 100 000€ in diesel by using LED powered lights.
* A total of 11 lighting desks to run lighting.
* 120 000 control parameters
* 250 active DMX universes
* 24 remote controlled Followspots operated with the Litecom Spotdrive system
* The back wall has 527 Ayrton Magic Blade
* 24 days of pre-programming for the lighting designer and their operators.
* 30 people to run lighting operations in show mode
* 2 991 main power circuit breakers for lights
* 80 024 meters of cable for lighting alone

The video canvas in our stage has a resolution of 16 998 976 pixels , so the content files are quite heavy.

Seems to be smaller than the last years. Remembering 300 DMX universes and 14 lighting desks from last year.

Today the QLC+ project reaches another important milestone: version 4.12.0.
From a user perspective, this is mostly a bugfix release. However, from a development perspective, this is a HUGE release.
In the last 6 months there's been at least 5 quite invasive reworks, caused by some flawed architectural designs and partly by the QLC+ 5 needs.

This weekend, visitors will be able to see Bonn city center in a different kind of light. With “Bonn shines” starting this Friday, 19 buildings and public squares will be illuminated. Music and culinary specialties will also attract visitors.

Hello Dear readers!

My name is Ola Melzig, and it’s my true pleasure to invite you to yet another edition to the Eurovision Diary.

It’s an enormous honor to yet again be the Head of Production for this amazing event, and me and my partner in crime, Tobias Åberg, would like to thank RTP for inviting us and for the warm and sincere welcome to the Portuguese Eurovision family.

Tobias and I have been impersonating a pair of rubber balls bouncing between Stockholm and Lisbon for 8 months now, and we have finally reached the destination- the production of the largest music television show on Earth - The Eurovision Song Contest!

Some of you might frown upon the fact that we have no LED or any other video canvas in our stage this year. It is a very bold creative statement, and one that every single member of this production is enormously proud over.

Bonn leuchtet

Licht hat seit jeher eine besondere Wirkung auf den Menschen und eine ganz eigene Magie. Licht lässt Welten entstehen, bringt Menschen zum Staunen, weckt Emotionen und Stimmungen. Licht wird Kunst – wenn sie richtig inszeniert wird. Bei Bonn leuchtet wird die Bonner Innenstadt mit ihren Straßen, Gassen und Häusern zu einem lebendigen Kunstwerk.
Bonn leuchtet wird in diesem Jahr ein Event, dass die Bonner Innenstadt zum Glühen, Glänzen und Leuchten bringt. Ein Event, dass die Menschen fasziniert, ihnen ein Lächeln und Freude ins Gesicht zaubert. Ein Event mit hoher Anziehungskraft.

#^M & M PRODUCTION - Eurovision Diary 2017

Welcome back to the Eurovision Diary music lovers!

My name is Ola Melzig, and I’ve had many different positions in the Eurovision productions over the years. My first one was as Technical Manager for lighting, video and rigging, I’ve also done two as Stage Producer. My funniest title was in Norway 2010, when I was ¨Technical Coordinator and Manager for the creative department¨. Longest title in the entire production! My two last Eurovisions, 2013 & 2016, I was the Technical Director.

#^SilentMOD - Blank & Jones Live at the Kölner Dom | Blank & Jones

During the world's largest gaming event GAMESCOM, which draws more than 350.000 visitor to Cologne, Blank & Jones will play as the first electronic artists ever in the world's famous Cologne Cathedral. The Event will take place on three nights in a row on August 18/19/20 and is part of a multi media installation around the cathedral.

Blank & Jones will release their first Modern Classical recording „DOM" as the soundtrack for the unique three night live performance at the Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom).

The project took over two years in planing and composing and will feature a complete set of new songs written and produced especially for this event. The Cologne Cathedral is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe and will be exclusively illuminated from the outside for the shows. Inside the University of Bochum developed varrious installations.
Blank & Jones collaborated with Ars Choralis Coeln for some Hildegard von Bingen pieces but also composed new music which crosses the borders of Modern Classical and Electronica inspired by this wonderful building and its stained glass window by Gerhard Richter.

16 years ago I saw Blank & Jones live the last time. I think with the light and LASER it must be an amazing atmosphere in this impressive cathedral.
