But that reminds me of an awesome ongoing discussion that became a regular part of the now defunct radio show Pop's Tönende Wunderwelt on Radio Bremen 4. It was a mix of world music, Monty Python quotes and toungue in cheek commentaries along with a floating diversification of storytelling and earnest music journalism.

For a veeery long times listeners had a write in discussion (and those still were the snail mail days) on the all important question:

In regards of climate change, should the council of Bremen plant more coconut trees or more pines?

The arguments I remember were:

• A hammock between coconut trees is much more stylish than between pines.
  
• As it will in fact be getting colder instead of warmer pines have to be the trees of choice. And just think of the damage just one coconut would produce when falling on a parked car. Pine cones would cause much less damage, there fore pines would also surely be the preferred solution for insurance companies.
  

Really, this time the saying truely fits: they no longer make shows like this.
