This can lead to confusion for administrators because the process gets Permission Denied.


That's not quite how I'd describe it.  I'd have said
Second only to end user support as the leading cause of PTSD in system administrators.

:confused this Permission Denied is caused by the default Linux ACLs user,group,other. The problems caused by SELinux are much more subtle. ;-)
