#^re:opening i-doit 1.4 on 07.08.14 | Open Source CMDB
On 07/08/2014 we will publish v1.4 of the new i-doit open software.
Important for all users of earlier versions:
i-doit open 1.4 is NOT an update of earlier open versions, but can ONLY be run as a new installation.

I used the old i-doit open at home. Bit confused they drop it now completely and even have no upgrade to the new professional-based version.
Always wanted to have something like that also at office. Their CMDB is really very detailed and powerful, but also quite confusing at the beginning. But after we had problems with switching-loops caused by a network bridge on a client PC and where we had to track MACs on switch Ports and which device is in which port such a documentation was really missing. Would be a good start with the new release maybe. Also connecting with OTRS should be possible with this new release and then I just need to see if I get inventory also from OPSI into it.
